For decades, 75% of all prawns grown in Andhra Pradesh were packed into refrigerated containers and shipped overseas — to Americans, Europeans and Japanese — while Indian families bought inferior frozen blocks from wholesale markets at inflated prices, paying for shell weight and head weight they would throw away.

We are a family of aquaculture farmers from Andhra Pradesh — the same state that feeds the world. For years, we grew and sold export-grade Vannamei and Tiger Prawns to large exporters who sent them abroad. We received a fraction of what they were worth.
